- Fans will be able to decide car paint schemes and pit signage
Roush Fenway Racing are set to become the first Nascar team to launch fan tokens to drive engagement with their fan base.
The fan tokens will be launched in partnership with Socios.com, a blockchain-powered fan rewards platform.
Fan tokens are unique digital collectible assets which provide owners with offer a variety of engagement activities, such as polling, VIP rewards access and exclusive promotions.
As part of the deal, Roush Fenway Racing fans will be able to influence team decisions using the fan tokens at Nascar's Watkins Glen event on 8th August.
Decisions such as car paint schemes, team uniforms and pit signage will be made by fans using their tokens on Socios ahead of the race.

Several sports have recently entered the fan token sector, including Spanish soccer giants Barcelona and National Hockey League (NHL) franchise the New Jersey Devils.
The 2021 Cup Series season continues on 16th May at Dover International Speedway.
