Ex-Formula One world champion Nico Rosberg will headline the next instalment of the BlackBook Motorsport Direct webinar series on Wednesday 17th June, with the sustainability entrepreneur and founder of the Greentech Festival set to discuss ways motorsport can drive future-proof mobility.
The German-Finnish former racing driver retired from the sport shortly after driving to glory with Mercedes during the 2016 Formula One season, shifting gears and choosing a change of pace to focus his time on promoting greener technologies.
The 34-year-old now heads up Greentech’s annual three-day awards gala, held in Berlin, which exhibits innovation in response to the climate change challenge. Rosberg is also a shareholder in the Formula E all-electric racing series, which promotes sustainable innovation and cleaner forms of mobility.
Peter Jones, BlackBook Motorsport’s director, said: “We are thrilled that Nico Rosberg, a decorated world champion in Formula One, will be joining us for the second episode of the BlackBook Motorsport Direct series.
“It is intriguing to see how the motorsport industry moves towards a greener future and there is no stronger advocate for positive sustainable change than Nico. We look forward to hearing his thoughts on the matter.”
Rosberg’s session will begin at 3pm BST on Thursday 17th June and will cover off strategies and technologies that motorsport stakeholders can adopt as they work to minimise the industry’s environmental impact and maximize the potential of their platforms.
Industry executives and members of the public interested in joining the one-hour session and posing questions are able to register online for free.
