Nascar’s first Cup Series race at Iowa Speedway averaged 2.69 million viewers on USA Network.
Confirmed:
- Most-watched Cup Series race on cable since Pocono in July 2023
- USA Network records higher viewership than any race that aired on FS1 in the first half of the season
Context:
The Iowa Speedway is a short track oval more commonly associated with IndyCar, although it has previously staged races in Nascar’s second-tier Xfinity Series between 2011 and 2019.
As this was the first Cup Series race held at Iowa, there is no direct audience comparison from last season. This slot was held by the Ally 400 at Nashville Superspeedway in 2023, which saw an average viewership of 3.23 million on NBC.
Coming next:
Nascar travels to the New Hampshire Motor Speedway – the site of its lowest TV viewership in 2023 – for its next round. The race will be shown on USA Network on 23rd June. The first race to be broadcast on NBC will be the Ally 400 on 30th June.
