Nascar agrees promotional partnership with Leidos

Leidos is looking to support NASA's bid to travel to the moon.

Nascar has agreed a marketing partnership with Leidos to promote the aviation services specialist's race to the moon campaign.

Contract:

  • Partnership will aim to bring together ideas from two entirely different industries
  • Leidos will look to leverage Nascar's substantial marketing presence

Context: Leidos, a primary sponsor of the 23XI Racing team since the start of the 2022 season, is looking ahead to the next phases of NASA's Artemis programme after the successful launch of Artemis I on 16th November 2022. The company has submitted a bid for the Human Landing System Sustaining Lunar Development contract, a critical component of NASA's efforts to establish a sustainable presence on the moon.

Comment: Pete Jung, senior vice president and chief marketing officer at Nascar, said: “Nascar partnering with Leidos couldn’t make more sense when it comes to this vehicle. With both companies being known for exciting innovations in distinctive fields, this collaboration brings together ideas that normally don’t meet in other developments. We are eager to watch this uniquely designed rover traverse different areas of the lunar surface.”

Coming next: The 2023 Nascar season continues this weekend at Talladega Speedway, with the Geico 500 getting underway on 23rd April.
