Nascar hits 2.4m viewers on NBC for Richmond race

Average viewership increases 34% compared to last year’s Cup Series event.

The Nascar Cup Series race at Richmond on 14th August achieved an average of 2.43 million viewers across the US commercial channel NBC and the USA Network pay-TV offering.

The figure represents an increase of 34 per cent compared to last year’s race on the now defunct NBCSN, plus an 11 per cent increase on the Nascar Cup Series average last season.

Through eight races, NBC’s coverage of the Nascar Cup Series is up four per cent compared to 2021 viewership.

In June, Nascar saw its audience for the first half of the 2022 Cup Series on Fox increase six per cent year-over-year (YoY) to an average of 3.7 million viewers per race.

Factoring in the two exhibition events, viewership was up eight per cent YoY and the best for the series since 2017.
