Nascar’s 23XI Racing have signed an extended and expanded deal with Comcast-owned telecommunications company Xfinity
Contract:
- Pair unveil team’s ‘Xfinity Speed Center’ communications hub at Airspeed headquarters
- Xfinity will serve as a primary sponsor at select races this season for both Bubba Wallace and Tyler Reddick
- 23XI and Xfinity to collaborate on content creation and fan experiences, including VIP access and driver meet-and-greets
- Xfinity will also serve as a presenting sponsor of one Intersect event, a consumer and community engagement event targeted to reach multicultural and underrepresented audiences within the sport of racing
Context:
The Xfinity Speed Center serves as a communications hub where team personnel can connect in real time with crew members at the track during race weekends. It offers the benefit of a controlled environment where the team can evaluate data and collaborate on solutions away from the track.
This deal would likely not have been completed were it not for the preliminary injunction secured in court at the end of last year allowing 23XI to continue as a chartered entry in 2025 despite the ongoing lawsuit with Nascar. This also deepens Xfinity’s commitment to Nascar following the extension of its premier partnership with the series, although the company will exit as the title sponsor of the second-tier Xfinity Series at the end of this year.
Comment:
“When we announced our partnership with Xfinity in 2023, we wanted to collaborate on initiatives to drive progress and innovation, and the Xfinity Speed Center is a great example of that,” said 23XI team president Steve Lauletta.
“With the expansion of our partnership, we can continue working on innovative ideas, compelling content, and creative programs to enhance our race team and enhance the fan experience.”
“Each member of our competition group at 23XI plays an important role in our race preparation and execution,” added Dave Rogers, senior director of competition at 23XI Racing.
“The ability for key personnel to digest data and provide insight throughout race weekends regardless of their location is vital to our success. We’re fortunate to have great partners like Xfinity who share a passion for racing and understand how important fast and reliable connectivity is for our team.”
Coming next:
Xfinity will have seven primary paint schemes throughout the year – five for Reddick and two for Wallace – which is an increase from one each with Reddick and Wallace in 2024.
