RTVE to air three MotoGP races on free-to-air during 2023 season

Spanish public service network secures races in Mugello, Catalunya and Valencia via DAZN sublicensing deal.

Spanish public service broadcaster RTVE has agreed a deal with Dorna Sports and DAZN to broadcast three races from the 2023 MotoGP season.

Contract:

  • Contract covers races at Mugello Circuit, Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya and Circuit Ricardo Tormo
  • RTVE will run non-live coverage of the round in Jerez across its platforms, as well as highlights of the race
  • Remaining 18 races of the season get Sunday night highlights show on Teledeporte and RTVE Play
  • Deal includes rights to show the entirety of the 2023 MotoE season

Context: DAZN has been the home of MotoGP in Spain since 2019, and recently signed an extension to retain the exclusive broadcast rights until 2027. This represents MotoGP's return to RTVE following a previous sublicensing deal agreed with DAZN in 2020.

Coming next: The Italian Grand Prix in Mugello will be held on 11th June, followed by the Catalan Grand Prix on 3rd September and the season-ending Valencian Grand Prix on 26th November.
