Motocross World Championship adjusts 2023 calendar

Motocross of Nations event moves from 22nd October to earlier in month.

Infront Moto Racing, rights holder of the Motocross World Championship (MXGP), has adjusted the schedulding of the Motocross of Nations for 2023.

Contract:

  • Originally slated to take place on 22nd October
  • Event brought forward two weeks to between 6th and 8th October
  • Consequently, MXGP of Great Britain is brought forward a week

Context: The calendar had to be adjusted following changes to the schedule in the new SuperMotocross World Championship, which would have meant that a US entry would not be possible to the team event.

Comment: David Luongo, Infront Moto Racing chief executive, said: “The date change of the Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations to the 7th and 8th of October occurred to ensure the best show to Motocross fans, because with the calendar modifications of the various championships around the world it appeared that some riders and federations would have difficulties in attending the biggest off road event of the year and we had to find a solution.”

Coming next: MXGP travels to Argentina for its season-opening event at Villa la Angostura on 12th March.
