  • Deal also extends to sponsorship of Mercedes-AMG's esports team

Formula One team Mercedes-AMG have announced a multi-year extension to their partnership with Swiss luxury watchmaker IWC Schaffhausen.

Extending a deal that stretches back nine-years, IWC will continue as the team's official engineering partner and will have branding on Mercedes-AMG's car, driver gloves, race suits and team kit. The partnership has also been extended to cover Mercedes-AMG’s esports outfit for the first time.

Additionally, IWC will continue to contribute to Ignite, a charitable initiative established by Mercedes-AMG and Lewis Hamilton to help improve diversity and inclusion in motorsport. The partners have also committed to working together on achieving sustainability goals, with Mercedes-AMG seeking to meet Formula One’s net zero emissions goal by 2030.

Over the length of the contract, IWC will host partnership activations at race locations throughout the Formula One season. The first of these will take place at the brand new Miami Grand Prix on 8th May.

"The many parallels between motorsport and watchmaking formed the foundation for our collaboration in 2013," said Toto Wolff, team principal and chief executive of Mercedes-AMG.

"Since then, we have been able to learn a lot from each other and experience many unforgettable moments together. Our actions are always determined by long-term thinking and the extension of our partnership is great news, ahead of the new season and beyond."
