The McLaren Formula One team have appointed Alessandro Alunni Bravi as their chief business affairs officer.
Confirmed:
- Alunni Bravi will report directly to chief executive Zak Brown in the newly created role
- He will provide executive leadership across a range of McLaren Racing’s business matters and the driver development programme
- Stephanie Carlin transitions to a more Formula One-focused role
- Steve Atkins to exit as chief communications officer at the end of February for personal reasons
Context:
It was announced earlier this month that Alunni Bravi would depart Sauber at the end of January after eight years, having served as the public face of the Swiss team since 2023. He will now manage a range of matters for McLaren Racing, including legal, driver development, commercial, driver contract management and rights holders/governing body management.
Comment:
“I’m delighted to have Alessandro joining us with his extensive expertise and motorsport background,” said Zak Brown, chief executive of McLaren Racing.
“Alongside managing our legal and driver development functions, he will also provide invaluable support on all professional driver business management matters, racing governance activities across our various rights holders and governing body relationships and broad business support to all our racing series as needed. We look forward to welcoming him to the McLaren Racing family in February.
“I’d also like to thank Steve [Atkins] for his contribution to McLaren Racing’s success over the last two seasons and I wish him well in his future endeavours.”
Coming next:
Alunni Bravi will commence his new position as part of the McLaren Racing executive team on 1st February.
