Jenson Button’s Nascar debut to be sponsored by Mobil 1

Former F1 world champion to drive three Nascar Cup Series races.

Former Formula One world champion Jenson Button is set to make his Nascar debut with the support of Mobil 1.

Contract:

  • Button will compete in three Cup Series races
  • The move is being facilitated by Stewart-Haas Racing and Mobil 1
  • Focus will be on giving fans exclusive content through activations and experiences

Context: Button won his Formula One world championship with the support of Mobil 1, with this being a partnership that began 20 years ago. Button is also set to compete in the 24 Hours of Le Mans as part of the Garage 56 effort that Nascar is entering.

Comment: Rob Shearer, director of Global Lubricants Marketing Services, on behalf of Mobil 1, said: “We are thrilled to celebrate Jenson Button as he makes his debut in the Nascar Cup Series and support him on his journey to making one of his racing dreams a reality.”

Coming next: Button will make his debut at the Circuit of The Americas on 26th March, before competing in the inaugural Chicago Street Race on 2nd July and finishing with the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road Course on 13th August.
