IndyCar extends NTT title sponsorship deal

Multi-year extension comes into effect in 2024.

US-based open-wheel series IndyCar has extended its title sponsorship contract with Japan-based technology firm NTT.

Contract:

  • NTT to continue as title sponsor on a multi-year deal from 2024
  • NTT and NTT Data also continue as the series' official technology partner
  • Brand awareness opportunities, client engagement, and B2B initiatives are the main partnership focuses for the tehcnology firm
  • NTT will also maintain its participation in IndyCar’s sustainability initiatives

Context: With the new deal coming into effect from 2024, this extension builds on the five-year deal NTT initially signed with the open-wheel series in 2019. The IndyCar title sponsor also recently transitioned from sponsoring the Chip Ganassi Racing team to Arrow McLaren, ending an eight-year assocation with the former.

Comment: Roger Penske, chairman of the Penske Corporation, parent company of IndyCar, said: “NTT is an excellent partner across our enterprise with strong expertise and a deep commitment to our sport. From Smart Venue technology at the Racing Capital of the World to the reimagined series mobile application, NTT is transforming the fan experience in new and innovative ways. We look forward to a bright future together.”

Coming next: The current partnership structure will remain in place for the remainder of the 2023 season, before any new partnership elements are rolled out when the new contract kicks in next year.
