The Formula E all-electric series has extended its Riyadh race partnership with Tarshid, the Saudi state-owned energy company, for a second season.
Contract:
- Tarshid will continue to be operate the low-power LED technology around the track
- The energy company first partnered with Formula E for last year's race
Context: This contract extension follows the news that lifestyle brand Core has agreed a deal to become title sponsor of the double-header event in Riyadh. Having two Saudi-owned firms onboard for the Riyadh race highlights the different ways to the Gulf state is able to back events on its home turf.
Comment: Alberto Longo, co-founder and chief championship officer of Formula E, said: “We share a common vision for a more sustainable and energy-efficient future and welcome the opportunity to bring that vision to life once again with our unique all-electric motorsport in Diriyah this weekend.”
