- Ferrari Trento returns to Formula One after 40 years
- Beverage to be used on podium, Paddock Club and official venues
Italian sparkling wine producer Ferrari Trento has been named the official toast of Formula One ahead of the 2021 season, signing a three-year deal.
The deal marks a return to sparkling wine after champagne company Carbon took over from Chandon in 2017.
As part of the agreement, Ferrari Trento's products will be featured on the Formula One podium, throughout The Paddock Club and at official venues.
Ferrari Trento has a history in the series, as it was first present in Formula One in 1981 at the Italian Grand Prix in Monza.
When asked why the series is making the return to sparkling wine, Formula One chief officer Stefano Domenicali told Motorsport.com: "It is the quality of the product and the quality of the company that comes first. This is the reason why our relationship has developed.
"Beyond technical words, Italian sparkling wines will have the chance to be greatly appreciated and F1 is the right platform to make sure people can appreciate the quality of Ferrari Trento.
"Of course, champagne has always represented something that is always synonymous with quality, so I am sure F1 will let the entire world know about Ferrari Trento."
Due to alcohol laws in the Middle East, the Emirates Gran Premio Dell'emilia Romagna in Italy will be the first event to use the product.
The 2021 Formula One season begins on 26th March at Bahrain International Circuit.
