F1 TV Pro made available to Telcel and Telmex subscribers

Deal with Mexican telecommunication firms will run until end of 2023 season.

Formula One has teamed up with Telcel and Telmex to make its F1 TV Pro over-the-top (OTT) platform available to the Mexican telecommunication firms customers.

The streaming service can be purchased as an optional add-on to customers' existing contracts for mobile and/or internet services.

The agreement between Formula One and the two companies will initially run until the end of the 2023 season, having been activated in time for the recent US Grand Prix.

The deals provide an additional access point for Mexican fans, supplement the coverage provided by Formua One's Mexican broadcaster partner Fox Sports. The pay-TV network's current five-year deal expires at the end of the 2022 season.

“F1 TV Pro is a leading source of engagement for our most avid fans, as it provides access to more analysis and data, as well as a wealth of archive and exclusive content, so we’re very pleased to be bringing it to our Mexican fans to complement the already excellent coverage on Fox,” said Ian Holmes, director of media rights and content creation at Formula One.

“The region is one of the most engaged throughout the sport, and we’re excited to be back in Mexico City racing next week.”
