- Spark Sport subscribers to be given access to F1TV Pro at no extra cost
- Service becomes first additional offering included in standard Spark Sport subscription
F1TV Pro, Formula One’s dedicated over-the-top (OTT) streaming service, has officially launched in New Zealand as part of a new partnership between the motorsport series and subscription platform Spark Sport.
Following the launch, Spark Sport subscribers now have access to the service at no extra cost, while non-subscribers will have the option of purchasing it as a standalone offering for NZ$14.99 per month or NZ$99.99 for an annual pass.
F1TV Pro provides live streaming of all track sessions during race weekends, as well as instant replays, on-demand highlights, archive content, additional camera angles, split-screen alternative views and access to live team radio channels.
Its launch in New Zealand means F1TV Pro is now available in 86 countries, while it also marks the first time that an additional service has been included with a standard Spark Sport subscription.
As well as Formula One, Spark Sport’s motorsport programming includes the likes of the World Rally Championship (WRC), MotoGP, and the Porsche Supercup Series.
“We are incredibly excited to be bringing F1 TV Pro to our fans in New Zealand ahead of this weekend’s British Grand Prix with Spark Sport,” said Ian Holmes, Formula One’s director of media rights and content creation.
“We are using new technology which focuses on performance and quality as it is geared especially for watching fast-moving action, so we’re excited to couple it with Spark Sport, which is at the edge of sports viewing innovation in New Zealand.”
Formula One’s 2021 season continues this weekend with the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, where a new sprint race format will be trialled for the first time.
