Formula One and MSC Cruises have launched a hospitality package for the season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
Confirmed:
- MSC Virtuosa to be docked at Abu Dhabi Cruise Terminal from 23rd to 27th November
- Fans can purchase packages ranging from cabin-only tickets to the full Formula One experience, including a pit lane walk and a guided track tour
- If buying in groups of two or more, the cheapest ticket is UK£730 (US$887) per person, rising to UK£3,580 (US$4,676) per person for the most exclusive package
- Single tickets are available for between UK£1,100 (US$1,336) and UK£7,160 (US$8,696)
Context: MSC Cruises recently secured the rights to show Formula One on its cruises as part of a three-year deal the IMG agency signed with the series for its Sport 24 and Sport 24 Extra channels. The emphasis on the exclusivity of these packages is likely a reaction to the whirlwind surrounding the Las Vegas Grand Prix, which precedes this race, with reports of hospitality packages going for as much as US$5 million.
Comment: Stefano Domenicali, president and chief executive of Formula One, said: “We are thrilled to join forces with MSC Cruises and bring fans a unique and unparalleled hospitality experience during the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2023.
“With luxurious accommodations, exclusive insider access, and the convenience of all-in-one race packages, we’re confident that this partnership will make the race weekend truly unforgettable.”
Coming next: Formula One returns for its second race of the season this weekend in Jeddah. The Saudi Arabian Grand Prix takes place on 19th March.
