F1 agrees three-year broadcast deal with IMG’s Sport 24

Agency secures in-ship and in-flight rights until 2025.

Formula One has agreed a three-year deal that sees the IMG agency secure the in-ship and in-flight rights to broadcast the series on its Sport 24 and Sport 24 Extra channels.

Contract:

  • Deal agreed until 2025
  • Includes 150 hours of live coverage, plus highlights from all race weekends

Context: Sport 24 and Sport 24 Extra are currently available onboard a number of aircraft carriers and cruise liners around the world, including Etihad Airways, Emirates, Turkish Airlines, MSC Cruises, Carnival Cruise Line, Princess Cruises, Royal Caribbean, and Silversea.

Comment: Michaella Snoeck, head of media rights at Formula One, said: “As Formula One continues to grow around the world, we are excited that we can now broadcast Formula One live in-ship and in-flight to travelling fans. The last few seasons have shown that the drama and excitement of Formula One is not to be missed. Now, together with Sport 24, fans will be able to enjoy the spectacle of F1 wherever they are.”
