Ferrari have agreed a new partnership with global professional services firm Aon ahead of this weekend’s Formula One Italian Grand Prix.
Contract:
- Aon joins Ferrari as an official partner on a multi-year deal
- The company will partner with the team on ‘initiatives that promote a culture of excellence and innovation’
Context:
Ferrari and Aon have yet to provide much detail about the plans for their partnership. However, the tie-up underscores Ferrari’s global standing, as it continues to attract major blue-chip companies to Formula One. Aon, a leading insurance broker, now joins key Ferrari partners such as Shell, IBM, and title sponsor HP.
This is Aon’s first sponsorship in Formula One since it partnered with McLaren in the early 2010s. The company then had an unofficial link to the former Marussia team through Max Chilton, whose father Graeme was vice chairman of Aon at the time.
Beyond Formula One, Aon’s sports sponsorship portfolio is heavily focused on golf, including the Ryder Cup, PGA Tour and LPGA Tour, with additional involvement in supporting Ireland’s women’s national rugby union team.
Comment:
“This sponsorship reflects a shared commitment to precision and performance,” said Carlo Clavarino, executive chairman of international business at Aon. “We see this collaboration as a strategic alignment of values where speed, data and teamwork can drive results – on the track for Scuderia Ferrari HP and in the boardroom for our clients.”
Maurizio Mazzarelli, chief marketing officer for Europe, the Middle East and Africa at Aon, added: “Ferrari’s global fanbase and the electrifying atmosphere they create at every race offer a unique platform to connect with our clients worldwide. This sponsorship enables Aon to engage audiences who value precision, passion and human performance – values that mirror our commitment to helping clients make better decisions in moments that matter.”
Coming next:
The timing of this deal is no coincidence as Ferrari looks ahead to its biggest race of the year. The team’s home race, the Italian Grand Prix, takes place from 5th to 7th September at Monza Circuit.
