F1 extends Azerbaijan GP until 2026

Baku street circuit to stretch beyond a decade on series calendar.

The Formula One global motorsport series has confirmed the Azerbaijan Grand Prix will remain on the calendar until 2026.

A new three-year deal was announced at this season’s event in Baku.

The fixture has been on the Formula One calendar since 2016 – a deal first signed off by the sport’s former ringmaster Bernie Ecclestone.

The hosting fee is one of the most lucrative for the sport’s American owners Liberty Media which is believed to be in the region of US$40 million (UK£32 million).

“The Baku City Circuit has become a hugely popular venue for Formula One,” said Formula One chief executive Stefano Domenicali.

“It is an incredible circuit which always delivers huge drama and has played host to some of the most exciting races in recent memory.

“We are delighted to extend our relationship with the country of Azerbaijan and look forward to continuing our growth together.”
