Extreme H, the hydrogen-powered spinoff of Extreme E, will be broadcast across Warner Bros Discovery (WBD) platforms when it launches later this year.
Contract:
- Extreme H will be broadcast on Eurosport and streamed live on HBO Max and Discovery+ across Europe
- Multi-year deal includes coverage on TNT Sports in the UK and Ireland
Context:
WBD first agreed a broadcast deal with the then-Extreme E championship ahead of its inaugural season in 2021 and has remained a strong supporter, signing an extended deal just last year. That backing continues despite uncertainty surrounding the championship’s future. Currently, the Extreme H website states that the new series is expected to launch in late 2025, though no further details have been provided.
Comment:
“We are thrilled to continue working with Eurosport and TNT Sports to bring the excitement of Extreme H to homes across Europe and beyond,” said Ali Russell, managing director of Extreme H.
“This partnership will amplify our message that motorsport can drive innovation and sustainability while delivering high-octane entertainment.”
Coming next:
WBD’s streaming platforms will soon be unified under the HBO Max brand. However, coverage of Extreme H will be split across various WBD platforms in the interim prior to the brand alignment. Currently, HBO Max is only available in Belgium and the Netherlands in Europe.
Max, which will be rebranded imminently, is available across France, Greece, the Nordics, Iberia, and Central and Eastern Europe. Discovery+ remains the available streaming service in Germany, Italy, the UK and Ireland until the launch of Max in 2026.
