Extreme E names EY as sustainability partner

Expands original deal signed in 2020.

Off-road electric SUV racing series Extreme E has named long-time collaborator EY as its sustainability partner.

Confirmed:

  • Two parties to promote the five pillars of Extreme E through 'XE Talks' – e-mobility, equality, environment, energy and entertainment
  • Thought leadership panels to be held at race events to discuss how to tackle the negative effects of climate change
  • Extreme E and EY to continue working together on the series' sustainability report, with the 2022 version set to be released later this year

Context: Consultancy firm EY already plays a significant role in working with Extreme E, having first collaborated with the championship back in 2020. EY came on board to help Extreme E achieve its commitment to minimising its overall footprint whilst creating a positive legacy.

Comment: Alejandro Agag, Extreme E founder and chief executive, said: “[EY's] continued commitment to sustainability aligns perfectly with our mission to create a better planet through sport. We look forward to continuing to work closely with EY to promote sustainability in motorsport and beyond.”

Coming next: The 2023 Extreme E season kicked off in Saudi Arabia from 11th to 12th March, with the series set to return for its second event of the year in Scotland from 13th to 14th May.
