DJ Carl Cox has announced he is entering a team into the upcoming Extreme E season.
Contract:
- Extreme E has not announced how long the new team has committed to the series
- Details about drivers and the team setup yet to be revealed
Context: Having originally set up Carl Cox Motorsport in 2013, this represents the DJ's first foray into electric racing. Cox will be looking to the electric off-road racing series as a chance to develop young and emerging talent in motorsport, while exploring the scope of sustainable mobility and diversity.
Comment: Cox, founder and team principal of Carl Cox Racing, said: “Participating in electric racing is new to me but I’m a fast learner and will bring my hard earned know how and experience into the mix at Extreme E. Carl Cox Motorsports is here to take on all comers and we are going to jump straight in. We are in it to win it.”
Coming next: Cox will join existing teams run by the likes of McLaren, Lewis Hamilton, Jenson Button, Carlos Sainz and Nico Rosberg when Extreme E returns for its third season on 11th and 12th March in Saudi Arabia.
