Brembo agrees deal to have MotoGP broadcast presence

Three-year deal sees brand provide braking data for on-screen graphics.

MotoGP has agreed a three-year deal with component specialist Brembo which will see the company have a broadcast presence through on-screen graphics.

Contract:

  • Brembo to provide braking data to support on-screen graphics during events
  • Initial graphic will focus on the heavest breaking point at each circuit
  • Later in the season, Brembo will also look to provide key insights into the change of speed when a MotoGP bike decelerates
  • Behind-the-scenes content will also be released looking into the work done by Brembo engineers in the series

Context: Brembo has supplied MotoGP teams with its braking equipment for more than 40 years, also supporting junior series Moto2, Moto3 and electric championship MotoE.

Comment: Carmelo Ezpeleta, chief executive of Dorna Sports, promoter of MotoGP, said: “It’s always a pleasure for us to extend a partnership, and even more so when we expand one. Brembo has been a key part of the sport for a long time on the technical side, so we’re very happy to welcome them as MotoGP Braking Inspiration Partner. It’s fantastic for fans to get such great data about the sport they love, and showcasing the Brembo logo alongside these insights allows them to reach our global television audience.”

Coming next: The graphics will be seen in action again at the next round in Argentina, with the all-new sprint race on 1st April followed by the main Grand Prix on 2nd April.
