- Juniper to supply network platform to F1 team's new base, set to be completed in 2023
- Network provider will receive branding on Aston Martin car’s halo
Formula One team Aston Martin have announced a new partnership with network provider Juniper Networks.
Under the deal, Juniper Networks will become the team's official networking equipment vendor, which will see it supply Aston Martin with a network platform across the racing outfit’s new dedicated Formula One facility. The base, which is due to be completed in early 2023, is being billed as Formula One’s first-ever ‘smart factory’.
The partnership will begin at Formula One's season finale in Abu Dhabi this weekend, with Juniper Networks branding to appear on the halo of Aston Martin’s cars.
"We're delighted to be able to announce this new partnership with Juniper Networks," said Jefferson Slack, managing director of commercial and marketing at Aston Martin.
"A Formula One team's secure networking needs are extensive: we need the ultimate in performance, flexibility and intelligence – all delivered with zero compromise.
"And that's as applicable to our trackside operations, which demand immediate, fault-intolerant response, as it is to our factory networking requirements, which need to be robust yet fully scalable.
"Juniper's adaptive and automated solutions are the perfect fit for our new smart factory build."
