Alpine F1 team pen multi-year Canel’s extension

BWT also extends sponsorship to Alpine's junior academy.

The Alpine Formula One team have confirmed a contract extension with Mexican confectionary firm Canel's and the expansion of its title sponsorship deal with BWT.

Confirmed:

  • Canel's to continue as confectionary partner to Alpine
  • BWT expands sponsorship to Alpine's stable of junior drivers
  • Alpine Academy will also be supplied with BWT filter technologies

Context: Canel's has been partnered with Alpine since 2016, having seized on the opportunity to enter Formula One following the addition of the Mexican Grand Prix in 2015. Meanwhile, the BWT branding will be visible on the cars of all Alpine junior drivers for the remainder of 2023 across Formula Two, Formula Three and beyond.

Comment: Otmar Szafnauer, team principal of Alpine, said: “It’s rewarding when a long-standing partner like Canel’s confirm their loyalty with renewed energy and we look forward to continuing our association with a brand that brings flavour and joy to our team.”

Coming next: Alpine return to action in Formula One from 17th to 19th March at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.
