The Alpine Formula One team has partnered with G2 Esports and rebranded its sim racing team.

Contract:

  • Alpine Esports rebrands to Alpine Sim Racing
  • G2 Esports will support Alpine’s restructure as it looks to upgrade its development programme and engineering team

Context:

This news comes after the close of the 2023/24 Formula One sim racing season, as Alpine looks to put the building blocks in place for future development. The team is looking to expand to other sim racing titles outside of the official Formula One series.

The partnership will also look to integrate Alpine’s Race(H)er initiative into its sim racing programme, which aims to identify and develop young female talent.

Comment:

Daniel Ritchie, global director of sponsorship acquisition at Alpine, said: “It’s a very exciting time for the newly-branded Alpine Sim Racing Team. This new collaboration with G2 symbolises a new era and new hope, where an aligned focus will produce constant progression and a change in priorities. Our aim is to take Alpine Sim Racing into championship contention in the coming years.”

Coming next:

It is unclear when official Formula One sim racing will return after a turbulent 2023/24 season, but the Alpine Formula One team races at this weekend’s Belgian Grand Prix from 26th to 28th July, the final race before the summer break.
