FIA Girls on Track
- ABB to help expand into international motorsport markets
- Girls on Track set up to help women get involved in motorsport
Global technology leader and Formula E title sponsor ABB has announced a global partnership with International Automobile Federation’s (FIA) Girls on Track initiative.
This announcement comes as the FIA and electric single seater series Formula E signed a six-year extension to continue collaborating on the female participation programme.
Girls on Track is a grassroots programme, set up by the Women in Motorsport Commission, with an aim to get more young women and girls involved in motorsport.
As part of the deal, ABB will help Girls on Track expand into new territories and markets worldwide, growing its global presence in the international motorsport community.
Going forward, Girls on Track will feature at four events every Formula E season to promote the roles of women within motorsport.
"The FIA Girls on Track-ABB Formula E project is the ideal opportunity for us to further our involvement in the sport and continue to use it as a way to help inspire and empower the next generation of women," said Bjorn Rosengren, ABB chief executive.
"It is another example of how we at ABB are working with the communities of which we are a part, to provide impactful support across three pillars: education, diversity and inclusion, as well as care for communities."
