Five things to look out for at the 2025 BlackBook Motorsport Forum

The BlackBook team picks out the key details ahead of this week’s meeting place for the global motorsport industry, taking place at Mercure London Earls Court on 27th March.

Success in motorsport requires a combination of high performance and innovation. But what role does innovation play in ensuring success on and off the track?

The BlackBook Motorsport Forum (BBMF) is the destination that connects and inspires top decision-makers and leaders across global motorsport.

Join us at Mercure London Earls Court on 27th March 2025 to dissect the critical balance between technical innovation, sustainability and commercial success while offering a 360-degree view of motorsport’s future.

“Over more than a decade, this event has established itself as the true meeting place of a sometimes disconnected motorsport industry, uniting decision-makers in the sport to discuss the future and power change,” says Peter Jones, executive director of BlackBook Motorsport.

“In 2025, it was clear to us that there must be an equilibrium between performance both on and off track. A consistent, competitive racing spectacle on track will only enhance the ability to grow the fanbase and drive commercial success. Equally, a well-run, innovative and commercially savvy operation off track can bring new eyeballs into less familiar corners of our sport.

“Therefore, at this year’s event and for the first time, you will find two stages – the Main Stage for off-track content, and the Technical Stage for on-track content. We hope you will all sample both stages at some point throughout the day.

“With a speaker lineup that includes the biggest series, race teams, brands, technical businesses, drivers and media, we hope you will walk away better informed on the great work being done on and off track, and where this incredible industry is headed.”

With a stacked agenda and various attendee experiences to immerse yourself in, the BlackBook Motorsport team picks out five things to look forward to at this week’s event.

1. Celebrating 75 years of Formula One

As Formula One celebrates its 75th anniversary, BBMF will explore the evolution of its fan-focused brand and business model. We’ll unpack key milestones, transformative moments, and strategies that have turned Formula One into a cultural phenomenon while setting the stage for its next era of growth.

Talking points include:

  • How F1 expanded its reach, built a dedicated fanbase, and evolved its brand to engage new audiences worldwide
  • F1’s approach to media rights, content creation, and digital platforms to enhance fan engagement and commercial growth
  • Behind F1’s business model and the role of new markets, sponsorship strategies, and evolving race promotion tactics

2. The intersection of motorsport and popular culture

From toys and luxury brands to gaming and cosmetics, find out how a rise in non-endemic partnerships is transforming motorsport into a cultural phenomenon that reaches far beyond the track.

Talking points include:

  • Why teams are extending their influence beyond racing into fashion, collectibles, and mainstream culture
  • Why are non-endemic brands investing in motorsport collaborations and what is the ROI?
  • How are cross-cultural collaborations enabling teams and brands to reach new audiences?

3. BBMF expands to two content stages

This year’s event sees two stages in use for the first time, so check out the new Technical Stage to explore how technical innovation can drive the on-track spectacle, therefore leading to greater revenue generation away from the racing action.

From the latest cutting-edge solutions to the science of creating a winning formula, BBMF will examine how technological advancements are reshaping the sport and influencing success at every level.

Highlights include looking at the technologies set to power the future of motorsport, what goes into setting up a successful operation to win on track, and how AI is set to revolutionise the sport as we know it.

4. There’s more than just on-stage content

Aside from the informative live sessions, you can compete for a number of prizes on offer throughout the day at our various attendee experiences. Try your hand at the Vesaro racing simulators for a chance to win two fan packages to the British Grand Prix courtesy of F1 Experiences.

You can also take on Formula E driver Sébastien Buemi in a ‘Beat the Champion’ competition to win two tickets to the London E-Prix later this year. Don’t miss further prizes at the Scalextric and Marbula One activations.

Away from the competitive action, come along to a dedicated meet-up for women and non-binary sports executives, supported by SportsPro NEW ERA. This is the perfect chance to connect with like-minded attendees and grab some refreshments ahead of the day’s proceedings.

To round it all off, celebrate the day with our post-event networking drinks in collaboration with Peroni Nastro Azzurro, a fantastic way to conclude another successful BlackBook Motorsport Forum.

5. An exclusive fireside chat with industry experts

To round out the event, a special live edition of BlackBook Motorsport’s Mics Out podcast will canvass the opinions of industry experts Jennie Gow, Kate Beavan, Matt Bishop, and Otmar Szafnauer.

These four need no introduction, so be sure to come along to a more informal discussion of all the big talking points in motorsport.

But all this just scratches the surface of BlackBook Motorsport Forum. Whether you’re looking to learn from thought leaders, expand your network, or gain a competitive edge in the industry, this is the place to be.
