Everything you need to know ahead of the ninth edition of the BlackBook Motorsport Forum, the flagship event for the motorsport business community on 27th April.

It’s lights out and away we go for the ninth instalment of the BlackBook Motorsport Forum, the flagship annual business event for the motorsport industry.

Whether it be the rise of digital innovation, the expansion of series into new markets or the move towards a zero-carbon future, motorsport is undergoing a rapid transformation in order to stay relevant for the modern era.

That change will be viewed through the pillars of digital transformation, sustainable transformation and international transformation on 27th April at the Kia Oval in London, where attendees will have the opportunity to hear from and connect with the industry leaders driving the future of motorsport.

This year’s agenda comprises more than 15 big-name speakers from some of motorsport’s leading series, teams, circuits and brands, including Oracle Red Bull Racing, IndyCar, the Formula One Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, and more.

The conference programme includes a range of keynotes, case studies and masterclasses, while delegates will also have the chance to participate through more than five hours of roundtable discussions and networking sessions.

The forum will address some of the most pertinent topics in motorsport, including how to launch a successful digital strategy, how to best monetise content, how to reach global fans while serving your domestic audience, and how to take actionable steps towards a sustainable future.

Some of the highlights to watch out for include:

  • Martin Whitaker of Saudi Motorsport Company and Sheikh Salman bin Isa Al Khalifa from Bahrain International Circuit will address the rapid global growth of motorsport in recent years, as well as their plans to continue developing the sport in the Middle East.

  • Zoe Chilton, head of strategic partnerships at Red Bull Racing, and Amr Elrawi, director of sports marketing and business development at Oracle, will lift the lid on their championship-winning partnership, including how Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is powering Red Bull’s race strategy.

  • James Bradshaw, head of digital technology at Formula One, is joined by Neil Ralph, principal sports partnership manager at Amazon Web Services (AWS), to highlight the innovative cloud technologies that have been powering the global motorsport series’ digital transformation.

  • Julia Pallé, director of sustainability at Formula E, will be on stage alongside Ellen Jones, head of sustainability for Formula One, and Bassem Kheireddin, technology manager of motorsports at Shell, to discuss motorsport’s role in the climate crisis and how series, teams, circuits and brands can reach zero-carbon.

  • Presenter and commentator Harry Benjamin will anchor a session with Richard Saxby, motorsports director at McLaren Applied, Mark Sibla, chief of staff at IndyCar Series, and Rodi Basso, co-founder and chief executive of E1 Series, exploring what the future of motorsport might look like.
