Nascar is the most popular motorsport competition in the US and the second most valuable motor racing property globally in terms of media rights. The value of Nascar is driven almost solely by domestic fandom, with the US being the only market where the proportion of fans willing to pay to watch Nascar (3%) surpasses that of Formula One (1.5%). Over 99% of the total broadcast value of Nascar comes from the US and Canada, highlighting the scale of the competition’s domestic appeal.

The total value of Nascar's new media rights deal may be less than the previous US$8.2 billion contract, but it's spread out over fewer years. Until 2031, the stock car racing series has managed to secure over US$1 billion per season.
