Roush Fenway Racing have confirmed a multi-year extension of their partnership with Fifth Third Bank.
The deal will see the US-based banking group continue to serve as the primary sponsor of driver Ricky Stenhouse Jr’s number 17 car in the top-tier Monster Energy Nascar Cup Series.
The agreement marks the continuation of a partnership which first began in 2012. Based on similar deals in Nascar, Fifth Third Bank is likely to be committing a figure between US$15 million and US$20 million each year.
“It’s a privilege to continue our relationship with Fifth Third Bank,” said Steve Newmark, president of Roush Fenway Racing. “There are few sponsors in Nascar who have as deep of an understanding of the industry and whose primary objective is to serve the wellbeing of businesses and individuals in the sport.”
Tom Heiks, group regional president for Fifth Third Bank, said: “The Roush team has been an outstanding partner for the past six seasons, and this goes beyond the racetrack. With their help, we've become the preferred bank of the motorsports industry, providing strategic financial advice and services to teams, tracks, drivers, suppliers and corporate sponsors.”
Ricky Stenhouse Jr added: “I’m so appreciative to continue racing with Fifth Third Bank on the car. It’s great to have partners who believe in the sport and are committed long-term to supporting the business of racing.”
