The MotoGP eSport Championship has announced a multi-year global partnership with Chinese multinational computer manufacturing company Lenovo.
The deal, which was announced through the racing series’ commercial right holder Dorna Sports, will see Lenovo become the exclusive technology sponsor of the competition.
As part of the agreement, the technology brand will also become the exclusive provider of PCs, monitors and gaming accessories at the competition’s live events.
The first MotoGP eSport Championship semi-final will take place at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, with this followed in October by the Movistar eSports Center in Madrid. The final of the MotoGP eSport Championship will take place at the MotoGP’s final race of the season in Valencia.
Pau Serracanta, managing director of Dorna Sports, said: “The Lenovo Legion gaming PC brand stands for sleek and powerful performance and with this partnership, some of the best gamers in the world will now be able to play on the Lenovo Legion devices during the semi-finals and the grand final.”
Gianfranco Lanci, corporate president and chief operating officer at Lenovo, added: “Given esports is one of the fastest growing areas in both gaming and sport viewing that’s captivating millions of fans around the world, sponsoring Dorna’s MotoGP eSport Championship is the natural step from our technology partnership in the MotoGP World Championship.
“It gives us the opportunity to deliver powerful and immersive experiences to the global gaming community – bringing together our Lenovo Legion gaming technology with Dorna’s critically acclaimed MotoGP game.”
