The Mediapro agency has secured another carriage deal in Mexico for its Canal F1 Latin America channel, according to Rapid TV News.
Totalplay, an IPTV operator, will now carry the dedicated Formula One channel which has broadcast every Grand Prix so far this season plus action from the GP2 and GP3 series.
Totalplay joins Televisa's Sky and Izzi Telecom in carrying Canal F1 Latin America in Mexico, with both operators having added the channel in March.
“The network has been added by an innovative pay-TV platform,” said Javier Villanueva, the executive director of Canal F1 Latin America.
“Totalplay is betting on being the only channel exclusively covering Formula One in Latin America, with all the events live broadcast.”
The new deal with Totalplay means Canal F1 Latin America has a strong presence in Mexico ahead of Formula One’s return to the country next year. The Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez is due to stage Mexico’s first Grand Prix for 23 years next November.
