US retailer to be Chase Elliott’s Nascar Cup Series primary sponsor for two seasons.

Hendrick Motorsports expand NAPA deal until 2020

Stock car racing team Hendrick Motorsports have extended and expanded their partnership with NAPA Auto Parts for a further two years.

The new deal will see the US retailer serve as the primary sponsor of Chase Elliott’s number nine Chevrolet Camaro for 24 to 26 races annually in the top-tier Nascar Cup Series until the end of the 2020 season.

NAPA’s affiliation with Elliott dates back to 2014, when the 22-year-old won the second-tier Nascar Xfinity Series to become the organisation’s youngest ever national series champion.

“NAPA made an incredible commitment early on in Chase's career, and that has only grown over the years,” said Rick Hendrick, owner of Hendrick Motorsports. “They're passionate about our sport, but the real key is that racing works for their employees, their customers and their overall business.

“The number nine team and all of us at Hendrick Motorsports are dedicated to NAPA's success, and we look forward to working together and continuing to deliver in every aspect of our programme.”

The new agreement will begin with the Daytona 500, which opens the new Nascar Cup Series season on 18th February.
