Formula One delivers DHL renewal

Global motorsport series Formula One has extended its long-running global partnership with German logistics company DHL.

The extension means DHL will remain the official logistics partner of Formula One, retaining a role it has held since 2004.

As part of the expanded agreement, DHL will also become the first official partner of the Formula One Esports Series, the championship’s competitive gaming tournament. The two parties will also collaborate on a range of other joint initiatives, including fan festivals in key markets and new digital formats.

Additionally, DHL will continue to present the DHL Fastest Lap Award and the DHL Fastest Pit Stop Award, both of which are presented at each grand prix.

“I am delighted we have renewed and reinforced our long-term commitment with DHL, the official logistics partner of Formula One,” said Sean Bratches, Formula One’s managing director of commercial operations. “Our sport is very fast-moving, where precision and punctuality are ingredients. These attributes are also central to DHL, and this is a guarantee for the ongoing success of this relationship.”

“As logistics partner, DHL is in charge of the complex shipping of Formula One vehicles and equipment,” added Arjan Sissing, head of corporate brand marketing at Deutsche Post DHL Group. “The brand is therefore an integral component of this highly emotional sporting and entertainment experience with global reach.

“As the first official partner of the Formula One Esports Series, we are very pleased to accompany Formula One on its digital journey and to actively contribute to the expansion and emotionalisation of the product range for fans.”

The new Formula One season gets underway with the Australian Grand Prix on 25th March.
