A look back at the 2016 Black Book Motorsport Forum

Recap the successful third edition of Black Book’s flagship event.

The 2016 edition of the Black Book Motorsport Forum brought together teams, promoters, sponsors and stakeholders invested within global motorsports for a full day of topical content and thought-provoking conversation.

The event focused on key topics facing the industry through a blend of panels and interviews, in-depth seminars and case studies, as well as workshops on the latest trends changing motorsport today.

Among the speakers, Audi Motorsport’s Allan McNish discussed his history in Formula One, and talked alongside Marc Priestly, MGI Consultancy boss Mike Gascoyne, and Motosport Industry Association chief Chris Aylett on the future of the sport.

Elsewhere, WRC managing director Oliver Ciesla took to the stage alongside M-Sport’s Malcolm Wilson and Wales Rally GB’s Ben Taylor to lay out the state of play in rallying.

Motorsport brands attended in abundance, with the likes of IWC Watches, Puma, Heineken, Microsoft, Shell and Bacardi-Martini all delivering key speeches, while Alex Tai of Formula E’s DS Virgin Racing faced off with Chip Ganassi’s Steve Lauletta to discuss the virtues of working in a motorsport team.

Throughout the day Black Book’s team of photographers captured every panel and topic, with the images available to view here.

Delegates at the Black Book Motorsport Forum learned more about how best to promote a motorsport series, gained exclusive insight from motorsport team representatives and discovered opportunities for agencies, race organisers, circuits, suppliers, broadcasters, teams, sponsors and governing bodies to maximise return from the fastest sport on earth.
